Synopsis (from Goodreads)
A no-nonsense female cop reluctantly teams up with the one man who makes her lose control in a deliciously sensual new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster...
To bring down a sleazy abduction ring, Lieutenant Margaret "Margo" Peterson has set herself up as bait. But recruiting Dashiel Riske as her unofficial partner is a whole other kind of danger. Dash is 6'4" of laid-back masculine charm, a man who loves life—and women—to the limit. Until Margo is threatened, and he reveals a dark side that may just match her own.
Beneath Margo's tough facade is a slow-burning sexiness that drives Dash crazy. The only way to finish this case is to work together side by side…skin to skin. And as their mission takes a lethal turn, he'll have to prove he's all the man she needs—in all the ways that matter.

Dash of Peril was a long book at 475 pages but I liked it a whole lot and I flew through it relatively quickly in one weekend. This novel is only my second by Lori Foster (my first was Getting Rowdy--you can read my review here) and, so far, both books I've read by her I liked a lot.

In Dash of Peril our heroine is Margaret "Margo" Petersen, the lieutenant in the local police force. She was an independent, tough, no-nonsense woman who can hold her own in the male-dominated force. She was very good at her job and she took pride in cleaning up the corruption when she made lieutenant.

Dash, our hero, had been attracted to Margo for a while. Margo returned the attraction but she outwardly denied it because she felt, as a woman, she had to be tougher, work harder and be stronger to gain the respect and deference of the men who worked under her. Since Dash was the younger brother of one of her detectives, she thought he was too close to her work. Margo also didn't believe that Dash could give her what she needed sexually--because the demands of her job Margo preferred a more submissive role when it came to sex.

She was working undercover on a case in which local women were being kidnapped, raped and forced into pornography. When Margo was targeted by the criminals, Dash Riske stepped in and became Margo unofficial partner. When she got hurt, Dash moved in to help her and for the first time, someone was there for her, caring for her.

Like I said, I quite enjoyed Dash of Peril. Margo and Dash were both very likable and I liked them separately and together. Dash was so sweet! I'm a sucker for heroes who cook for the heroine and that was what he did. I liked that Dash wasn't intimidated by Margo's ball-busting work persona and he respected her for it. While he was an Alpha and had Alpha protective urges, he knew that Margo was really good at her job and he didn't stand in her way. Margo had a harder time fighting her growing attraction to Dash and it turned out he can more than meet her sexual needs. The author only touched a little on a D/s relationship and the love scenes were hot--there was a lot of foreplay on Dash's part as he courted her.

Margo had more issues to work through than Dash. Throughout the novel, it was great seeing her relationships with the people close to her evolve, especially with detectives Logan Riske and Reese Bareden. I wanted to shake her dad, though. No matter how much Margo tried, it seemed nothing she ever did was good enough. Her dad was one of those "do not show any weakness" types and... URGH. I dislike characters like that, but it did explain why Margo was the way she was.

Dash of Peril was an entertaining romantic suspense read. It was well written with great characters and thoroughly enjoyed it. While I cannot speak for the first two books in the series since I haven't read them, I do recommend this book and Getting Rowdy

Agen Bola Terpercaya Cityholidaybet Reported - Jurgen Klopp is confident wealth Borussia Dortmund soon changed despite to Arsenal disappointing loss in the Champions League.

The defeat was a 2-0 defeat of Dortmund on Wednesday for the first time in Europe this season, and added to the form of disappointment in the Bundesliga.

The Side Club won only three times all season and sit under a third country in the standings with just 11 points from 12 games.

He said, "This is not a picnic," and the current Dortmund situation. "You must deal with it decisively.

"The team is fitter than they were at the beginning of this season and we must not lose sight of our positive.

"No one of the players at the highest level, we have to keep working. Our all the attackers are not good in London, but the key is always stay positive.

The club will do a final check on the fitness Mats Hummels (ankle) and Sven Bender (hip) before the clash on Sunday, but Jakub Blaszczykowski (muscle injury) is still far away from the return of the first team.

  34. Adebayor returns to Tottenham after leave

Agen Bola Terpercaya Cityholidaybet Reported - Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is available for selection after returning to the club following a period of compassionate leave.

The Togo international was granted permission to return to Africa earlier this month to deal with a "private matter", and has not featured for the club since a 2-1 home defeat to Stoke City on November 9.3

Adebayor has since returned to training, and could feature when Spurs host Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.

"He's available," said head coach Mauricio Pochettino. "After, we will see if I pick him or not.

"I'm happy with Ade and how he's been training. Maybe he's not 100 per cent yet, but he's not far away.

"He needs training, he needs to improve, especially his physical condition, but he's getting better."

  35. Liverpool boss Rodgers slams Sterling critics

Agen Bola Terpercaya Cityholidaybet Reported - Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hit out at criticism received by Raheem Sterling this season.

The 20-year-old attacker started the campaign in fine form, with three goals in his opening five Premier League outings, but then went 20 games without scoring before netting against Bournemouth in midweek.

However, Rodgers has leapt to the defence of the England international and stated that his showing in Wednesday's 3-1 League Cup win - in which he scored twice - is proof of his importance to Liverpool.

"As I've said before he's an outstanding talent, he's been great for us," Rodgers told reporters. "It's been incredible the stick that the kid has received - people trying to criticise him and put the focus on to him.

"He's been outstanding for us and it was another great performance from him the other night in another difficult game."

  36. Allegri: Tevez too important not to start against Napoli

Agen Bola Terpercaya Cityholidaybet Reported - Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has revealed that while Carlos Tevez is suffering from fatigue, the Argentine is "too important" to be rested for the Supercoppa Italiana showdown with Napoli.

Tevez played 86 minutes of Thursday night's Serie A game at Cagliari, with the 30-year-old setting the Italian champions on their way to a comfortable 3-1 victory with his 10th league goal of the season.

However, Allegri will resist the urge to protect his star striker in Juve's final outing of the season, as the Bianconeri boss is intent on naming his strongest line-up for Monday's meeting with Napoli in Qatar.

"Carlos is one of the best attackers in the world and although he is, by his own admission, a little tired right now, he is too important for us [to rest]," he is quoted as saying by his club's official website.

"Plus, we're going on holiday on Tuesday!"
