Happy Friday! We decided to combine #FridayReads and Follow Friday together this week. This is what we are reading this weekend:
Leslie is reading Sarah Dessen's newest, The Moon and More, and she is liking it so far and is Team Theo. Here's a scene with Emaline and Theo from the chapter [ch. 7, pg. 142] Leslie is currently on:
"...I'd be happy if I never had to see anyone from high school again."As for Michelle, she just started True Spies by Shana Galen, a historical romance which won't be out 'til September 3rd. Here's a little bit from chapter 1 of the ARC edition:
"Really," I said. "Aren't you only, like, a couple of years out, though?"
"Doesn't matter. Even in ten years, I still won't want to see any of those people."
The light changed and we moved forward.
"Sounds like it was pretty bad."
"There just wasn't much for me there," he said. "It was jock-centric, seriously elitist. As a computer geek into the history of cinema and my trombone, I functioned mostly as a school-wide joke or a punching bag. Usually both."
"Mother, you cannot wear that."If guys are interested in True Spies or The Moon and More, just click on the links and you'll be taken to Goodreads.
Elinor almost laughed. "Why not?" She turned to Bridget. "Do I have any rogue?"
"Caroline!" Elinor echoed her daughter's outraged tone. "I am a mother, not a corpse. I do not want to look like one."
The Feature and Follow activity this week is to share a favorite literary quote:
“Is a person worth more because they have someone to grieve for them?” ―Melina Marchetta, Jellicoe RoadLeslie's favorite:
“It is a strange thing, but when you are dreading something, and would give anything to slow down time, it has a disobliging habit of speeding up.” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Goblet of FireThank you for stopping by our blog. Please follow us and if you get to us before we get to you, please leave a link to your blog so we can follow you back.
