Books We Covet: Murderous Boyfriends?

Why we covet these books: Two words: murder mystery.

We love a good murder mystery and devour criminal dramas on TV every week. We love a good whodunit in our reads as well. Both The Predicteds and Deadly Cool sound like they'll deliver and we love that both have the possible murderous boyfriend aspect.

thepredictedsThe Predicteds by Christine Seifert (out September 2011)
Daphne is the new girl in town and is having trouble fitting in. At least she has Jesse... sort of. He wants to be more than "just friends," but there's something he's not telling her about his past. Something dangerous. When a female student is brutally attacked, police turn to PROFILE, a new program that can predict a student's capacity for drug use, pregnancy, and violent behavior, to solve the case. As the witch hunt ensues, Daphne is forced to question her feelings for Jesse-and what she will do if her first love turns out to be a killer.

deadlycoolDeadly Cool by Gemma Halliday (out October 2011)
Hartley Grace Featherstone is having a very bad day. First she finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her with the president of the Herbert Hoover High School Chastity Club. Then he's pegged as the #1 suspect in a murder. And if that weren't enough, now he's depending on Hartley to clear his name. Seriously? Not cool. But as much as Hartley wouldn't mind seeing him squirm, she knows he's innocent, and she's the only one who can help him. Along with her best friend, Sam, and the school's resident Bad Boy, Chase, Hartley starts investigating on her own. But as the dead bodies begin to pile up, the mystery deepens, the suspects multiply, and Hartley begins to fear that she may be the killer's next victim.

What YA book(s) do you "covet" this week?
***We are not here to link up our WoW post on Jill's Breaking the Spine blog. If someone could please add our post on her blog, we would very much appreciate it. Thank you in advance! :) ***

"Books I Covet" is a weekly or bi-weekly blog post series I am going to be doing here.
It will feature books I am very excited about reading and plan on buying/borrowing in the near future. It is similar to the "Waiting On" meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. However, some of the books may already be published and others may still be in pre-order. I will include the books' blurb, cover art, and/or release date if they're available. Click on the WoW image on the left to join in!
